Sachs 'had never read Terry Pratchett'

Andrew Sachs has admitted that he had never read a Terry Pratchett novel before joining the cast of a new adaptation.

Sachs will play Groat in Sky1's two-part drama Going Postal later this month.

However, he told PA that he initially had no idea what Pratchett's novels were like.

"I'd never read any of Sir Terry's books," he said. "Once we got Going Postal, I read that twice through before we tackled the script. Would I ever read another book of his again? I probably would."

Going Postal begins on May 30 at 6pm on Sky1.
