Emma Crosby is being lined up to replace Katie Derham on ITV1's lunchtime news programme, a report has claimed.

According to The Sun, the 32-year-old will start work in the new role following the expected clear-out of presenters at her current home of GMTV.

It is thought that Crosby is also likely to take over Derham's job as the host of regional news show London Tonight.

Derham quit ITV News last month in favour of a new deal with the BBC, which will see her become the new face of the Proms.

Meanwhile, Crosby's GMTV future appears uncertain due to a major revamp being planned by ITV bosses.

Prior to joining the breakfast broadcaster as a replacement for Fiona Phillips, Crosby worked as a Sky News anchor for four years.
