'24' star Itzin for 'Covert Affairs'

Former 24 actor Gregory Itzin has agreed to star in new USA Network drama Covert Affairs.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Itzin, who played villainous president Charles Logan in 24, will star as Henry Wilcox, the former Director of Clandestine Services.

Ex-ER actor Eriq La Salle will reportedly also guest star as "a former East Africa operative who quit the agency after suffering a nervous breakdown" and struggles against the CIA's attempts to "bring back him into the fold".

The series will also feature Heroes actor Sendhil Ramamurthy as the son of Itzin's character.

The series is due to premiere on July 13.
