'Jackanory' to be revived

The classic children's BBC storytelling show, Jackanory, is set to make a comeback.
The legendary programme, which saw droves of famous names reading children's books, has become the latest programme on the BBC's 'revival' list.
Alison Sharman, head of children's programming, told Media Guardian: "They don't know it yet but I have decided to revive Jackanory, probably for Christmas 2006."
Over the 3,500 episodes that were made, 650 stories were told by 400 faces - the most notable being Bernard Cribbins who made 111 appearances.
