During the chat in February, Andre broke down after Burley asked him how he would feel if Alex Reid asked to adopt his children.
Speaking at the launch of the new series of his reality show Peter Andre: The Next Chapter, Andre was asked if watching the encounter is still "raw".
"It was, yeah," he said. "I didn't think it would be, but it was. It's only because certain subjects hit a raw nerve. That's all it is. OK, I saw that bit about when they mentioned the marriage and I was like, 'Haha, it doesn't bother me'. Well, of course there's some shock in your system. Of course there is. So I may have played it a bit like it didn't.
"But that wasn't what got me. It was the fact that I got angered first by a clip [of Dwight Yorke] and then from anger it turned into sadness at the prospect of something not being how I want it, kids-wise. I think it really was raw, yeah."
He added: "The Sky thing did get me. As a journalist she did what a journalist probably should have done. But I just didn't expect what I was going to hear."
Andre also revealed that he had tried to defend Burley after the interview, saying: "Me being me, I wanted to ring her and say, 'Don't listen to anyone, everything's alright'. This girl's getting complaints and I'm going, 'No, it wasn't her fault, she didn't mean it'. And they're going, 'Pete, grow up'. I just said I could not believe someone would actually try and hurt you. But this is my weakness, that's my weak spot - I don't think anyone potentially wants to hurt anyone."
Sky News was cleared by Ofcom over the interview in April.
