Fresh from airing Dancing With the Stars - the US version of Strictly Come Dancing which concluded with 22 million viewers last week - the ABC network premiered a localised version of the Channel 4 hit last night.
According to early figures, an estimated 10.28 million viewers tuned in for the two-hour opener, ranking as the number one show all night in both total viewers and the coveted 18-49 demographic.
The performance of the show is comparable to that of Dancing With The Stars, which started off with an impressive 13 million viewers before progressively adding a further 10 million over the course of its six-week run.
