Fiona Phillips has urged Christine Bleakley to stay at the BBC.

Bleakley recently sparked further speculation about her future at the organisation when she admitted that she is "torn" between the BBC and ITV.

Phillips, who previously worked on GMTV, has now told The Daily Telegraph that Bleakley should avoid a move.

"Christine would be totally mad to leave the BBC," she said. "They've looked after her and she's got a good deal with them."

Many of the rumours about Bleakley's future have focused on her desire to join her former One Show host Adrian Chiles on GMTV. However, Phillips added: "I never believed that Christine would be tempted to join Adrian on the sofa."

Recent reports suggested that the BBC has offered Bleakley a £100,000 pay rise to persuade her to stay at the organisation.
