Sports network ESPN is said to be "close" to picking up boxing reality show The Contender for a second season.
The future of the show - fronted by Sylvester Stallone - had been called into doubt after broadcast network NBC decided not to commission a new run.
The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday that exec producer Mark Burnett was on the verge of signing a deal with the cable station but added that Stallone may not be back for the second round.
