FOX's 'Renovate' sued by unhappy family
A family who appeared on FOX's home makeover show Renovate My Family are suing for what they claim is a poor job.

Gary and Sharon Rosier of Lemont Township, Illinois appeared in an episode of the series last September after appealing for a revamp to their home to make life easier for Steven, their paralysed teenage son.

According to Chicago's Daily Herald, instead of being treated to a "handicapped-friendly home", the couple say they have a "shoddy wreck of a house" that will cost at least $350,000 to fix.

Amongst their complaints: "Wiring remains exposed; door knobs are round, impossible for Steven to grasp; a dryer is vented into the home rather than out of it; smoke detectors don’t work; plywood covers basement windows; siding and plumbing was improperly installed; the furnace has no foundation and is stuffed in a crawl space and sod was installed directly over limestone paving."

Additionally, the family have had problem with an "endless pool" installed in Steven's room to help with therapy. “It was so powerful it forced him under and almost drowned him," said Mark Belongia, the Rosiers' attorney.

He added: "Essentially what they did is build a movie set."
