Fox confirm plans for next 'Simple Life'

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are to star in another season of The Simple Life together, Fox officials confirmed yesterday.

As expected, contractual obligations have forced the pair together for a fourth series of the show, even though they are no longer friends.

Fox chief Peter Liguori explained, "We feel that there's got to be something there, given that both Paris and Nicole are engaged and about to be married, and there's got to be something in that world that we can play with that can continue this spirit of The Simple Life."

Hilton and Richie's friendship came to an abrupt end in April this year. Although Paris refused to officially explain the reasons behind their fallout, rumours suggest that it came after Nicole tried to show the hotel heiress' sex tape at a private party.

"Like all friends, they've had their ups and downs," Fox's reality guru Mike Darnell added. "It still hasn't been decided what exactly they'll be doing. I'm not being evasive, we just don't know yet."
