According to The Sun, Beckham was hired after BBC executives refused to allow Ross to interview comic Russell Brand, due to the Sachsgate scandal from two years ago.
"It's all very top secret but Becks has been booked and he's really excited," a source claimed. "It will be just after the World Cup so there will be plenty to talk about.
"Who knows - he may end up bringing on the World Cup if England manage to win it," the insider added.
Friday Night With Jonathan Ross will conclude on July 16.
