First through was 21-year-old Daniel England, who had received thumbs up all round for his rendition of Otis Reading classic 'Try A Little Tenderness'.
Joining him were punk rocker Lee Harding, who had given a version of Good Charlotte's 'The Anthem', and Cairns contestant Natalie Zahra, who took on 'When You Believe'.
Meanwhile, Brit hopeful Josh Williams will return to compete for one of the three remaining places in this weekend's wildcard show.
