Doctor Who's John Barrowman has agreed to star in a BBC One show of stage musicals.
The actor, who played Captain Jack in the most recent series, will display a talent for singing by performing West End songs in Simply Musicals.
"It will bring the boards back to the BBC," Barrowman told The Mirror. "It's very exciting."
Ruthie Henshall, Mica Paris, and former S Club member Jon Lee will also be participating. The programme, which features hits from shows including Billy Elliott, Guys and Dolls and Chicago, will air next year.
