Actor Bob Denver dies, 70

He passed away at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Centre in North Carolina, where he was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Denver became one of TV's best-known faces when Gilligan's Island began in 1964. It ran on CBS until 1967 and then enjoyed frequent re-runs and also inspired three reunion movies.
After Gilligan, Denver starred in series such as Dusty's Trail and made guest appearances on shows including Fantasy Island and The Simpsons.
