'Canadian Idol' runner-up inks record deal
Canadian Idol runner-up Rex Goudie has landed a major record contract with the same label as Melissa O'Neil, the show's winner.

The 19-year-old Newfoundlander will begin work on his debut album next week with a view to a mid-December release.

"As soon as Rex hit the stage, it was clear he was a star," said Lisa Zbitnew, president of Sony BMG Canada, in a statement. "We are very excited to work with such a talented and charismatic vocalist on his debut album."
