Grandstand host Steve Rider may be planning to return to ITV.
The presenter is in talks to front the network's football coverage, as he is apparently feeling "unloved" by the BBC.
Rider, who has worked for the corporation for the past twenty years, is said to be unhappy that Gary Lineker gets paid more than him, resulting in the decision to review his future plans.
"There have been whispers of a talent crisis within the sports department - this would be a huge blow," a source told The Mirror.
Despite this, one source told the newspaper that Steve's meetings with the BBC's former head of sport Peter Salmon left him feeling, "distinctly unloved".
ITV refused to comment on the story, explaining, "We never discuss artist's contracts."
