The cast of Suburban Shootout, the show dubbed "the UK version of Desperate Housewives", has been announced.
The dark comedy, a co-pro between Five and Paramount Comedy, follows two power-crazed housewives embroiled in a turf war for control of the fictional Home Counties town of Little Stempington.
Cast members include Anna Chancellor ('Duckface' from Four Weddings and a Funeral), Felicity Montagu (Lynn from I'm Alan Partridge), Amelia Bullmore (Steph Barnes from Coronation Street) and Ralph Inenson (Finchy from The Office).
Also confirmed are Emma Kennedy (The Smoking Room), Cathryn Bradshaw (The Last Detective), Lucy Robinson (Doctor Who), Rachael Blake (Auf Wiedersehen, Pet) and newcomers Ruth Wilson and Tom Hiddleston.
"I'm delighted that we have been able to assemble such a stellar cast of British comedy acting talent," said Graham Smith, commissioning editor at the Five-Paramount comedy initiative.
The show, currently in production, will premiere in January on Five and air later in 2006 on Paramount.
