Deal or No Deal, already a hit in 40 countries worldwide, will be the presenter's first project since the demise of Noel's House Party.
"I was delighted when Channel 4 offered me the presenting job on Deal or No Deal," said Edmonds, who begins filming later this month. "I'm really excited about coming back to TV presenting after five years and am especially looking forward to working on such a gripping and suspense-filled game show format."
In the show, 22 contestants compete to win cash prizes from 22 sealed boxes, each of which contains an amount ranging from 1p to £250,000. The contestant selected to play the game chooses which box they wish to play with before gradually eliminating the other boxes. However, an unseen opponent called the 'dealer' tempts the player with cash offers to buy back their chosen box.
"Deal or No Deal is a cracking format and Noel is brilliant in it," said Adam Macdonald, head of daytime at C4. "We've made a really strong start to the Autumn season in daytime and I'm sure that Deal or No Deal will be an utterly compelling addition to the Channel 4 daytime schedule."
