Comedians Joan Rivers and Mel Brooks will respectively voice Shirley the Sheep and WIley the Sheep in new storytelling show The Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, currently shown on BBC2.
The core theme of the Emmy-winning show is grandparent and grandchild bonding and storytelling. It follows the adventures of a pig and his friends Dannan the Duck and Ferny the Bull. It's aimed at children between four and seven, and is currently shown in 19 countries.
Daniel Isman, from creators Entara, said they were "thrilled" to have the pair on board. "The series is about building inter-generational relationships through storytelling," he said. "Who better to relate this story than two showbiz veterans, Joan Rivers and Mel Brooks?"
