Dick and Dom criticise BBC over quiz

Dick and Dom have spoken out about the ill-fated revival of TV quiz show Ask The Family.

The duo, who are nominated for two children's Bafta awards, said that the show was "totally the wrong vehicle for us and really badly done."

The original show was extremely popular, but the remake was critically panned and had low ratings, with one critic stating that the show was "made by morons for morons."

A BBC spokeswoman refused to lay blame, saying: "It wasn't a good programme and whose fault that was is neither here nor there. We admitted at the time that the show didn't work and we took it off air...Dick and Dom have been great."

Dick and Dom told LBC radio station that Ask The Family was "the biggest load of tat that we've ever, ever done."

The duo, whose BBC One show Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow will end in April, called the quiz "absolutely shoddy". They added that they felt they "had the wrong production team at the BBC...It was just an awful programme."
