The sitcom, created by Ruth Jones and James Corden, finished its third series last Christmas but speculation has indicated that the show could return for one-off specials.
"I talked to Ruth and James a lot about Gavin & Stacey," BBC One controller Jay Hunt told Digital Spy today. "We've got no immediate plans to bring it back. I'm not only a huge fan of the show myself, but I know audiences in their millions loved it last Christmas."
She added: "So no immediate plans, but I'd certainly say 'never say never'."
