'This Is England '86' debuts to over 2.6m

The four-part mini-series, which is based on the characters in Shane Meadows's film This Is England, debuted to 2.66m (14.9%) on Channel 4 from 10pm. A further 326k (3.6%) watched the drama on Channel 4 +1.
On BBC One, Motorway Cops grabbed 4.41m (19%) in the 9pm hour, beating Help I Caught It Abroad 2, which mustered just 2.34m (10.1%) on ITV1.
New Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? appealed to 3.04m (13%) on ITV1 in the 8pm hour, but it was outperformed by BBC One's Holby City, which took 5.41m (23.1%).
The One Show averaged 3.6m (18.4%) on BBC One between 7pm and 7.30pm, down 490k week-on-week.
Coast appealed to 1.81m (8.6%) on BBC Two in the 7pm hour, before factual entertainment series The Great British Bake Off took 2.27m (9.7%).
Also on BBC Two, The Big School Lottery mustered 870k (3.7%) in the 9pm hour. It was followed by live coverage of the Mercury Music Prize 2010, which appealed to 460k (2.3%).
On Channel 4, Help! My House Is Falling Down brought in 1.84m (7.8%) in the 8pm hour and 225k (1%) on timeshift. Ultimate Big Brother grabbed 2.17m (9.4%) from 9pm and an impressive 483k (2.8%) on Channel 4 +1.
Zoo Days pulled in 412k (1.9%) on Five from 7.30pm, before Natureshock: India's Silent Killer took 881k (3.8%). CSI: Miami and CSI: NY grabbed respective audiences of 2.29m (9.9%) and 1.35m (7.4%) on the channel from 9pm.
BBC One dominated primetime with 22.6% against ITV1's 12.9% (HD: 0.3%). Channel 4 came in third with 8.6% (+1: 1.1%), followed by BBC Two with 6.5% and Five with 5.6%.
