Wilson offered Dr Who, turned down role

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has claimed that he was offered the job of replacing Christopher Eccleston as the BBC's timelord, Doctor Who.
The star said that he hasn't quite given up on the role, but that he was unavailable at the time for shooting. "The BBC offered it to me but I was so busy they got a lookalike. It's the kind of thing I've got down for my autumn years."
The cheeky singer does have small doubts about Tennant taking the role, however: "I'm worried David's too young for the part. Eddie Izzard would be perfect."
