Cowell sells 'Star Duets' to FOX
Published Tuesday, Jan 10 2006, 19:56 GMT | By James Welsh
US TV network FOX has picked up Star Duets, a new musical reality show format from Simon Cowell.
Cowell developed the format for ITV, with the network eager for another genre hit like X Factor. Due to his X Factor commitments, Cowell won't appear on-screen in the US version.
The series will bring together top celebrity singers with other celebrities not known for their musical talents. Each week, the pairs will perform a duet that will be judged by a panel of judges and a viewer vote.
The UK version is expected to air early this year, with the US version expected to air on FOX during the summer.
