Barrowman defends 'Doctor Who' spin-off

John Barrowman

John Barrowman has defended his upcoming Doctor Who spin-off show.

The actor, who reprises his role as Captain Jack for the thirteen-part series, is tired of seeing Torchwood described as an X-rated version of Doctor Who.

Barrowman told the Radio Times, "Everyone says it's the X-rated Doctor Who, but it's not. It's going to be Britain's answer to The X Files."

Former S Club star Rachel Stevens and Charlotte Church have both been tipped for roles in the show, which airs on BBC Three later this year.
