Famous faces such as Ricky Gervais, Davina McCall, Gordon Ramsay and US actress Teri Hatcher are being lined up for the programme, according to The Sun.
The programme will feature teams of celebs squaring off in challenges such as snowboarding, abseiling, bungee jumping and sky-diving to win money for community projects in their hometown.
A source said: "Famous And Fearless will fill the gap left by Celebrity Big Brother in the New Year.
"Instead of watching celebrities cosy in the Big Brother house, viewers will see them having to work out in freezing January conditions from the comfort of their sofas."
