The Channel 4 quiz show's series two finale picked up 2.51m (14.1%) between 10pm and 11.30pm, adding a further 203k (1.8%) on timeshift.
Meanwhile, The Graham Norton Show held up well for BBC One, with 3.26m (20.1%) from 10.35pm, a 160k drop week-on-week.
Earlier in primetime, New Tricks easily won the 9pm hour, with a solid 7.12m (30.2%) for BBC One, while a Halloween special of Paul O'Grady Live had 3.33m (14.1%) for ITV1, and a further 105k (0.4%) on HD.
Channel 4's screening of US import The Event took 1.56m (6.6%), then 301k (1.6%) watched on +1. The Mentalist on Channel 5 was not far behind, with 1.33m (5.6%) at the same time.
During the 8pm hour, Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers logged 1.66m (7%), pipped by Come Dine with Me which had 1.7m (7.2%), and a hefty 520k (2.2%) on Channel 4 +1.
ITV1's Cheetah Kingdom, sandwiched between two Corrie outings, delivered 2.78m (11.9%) at 8pm. BBC One's QI interested 4.04m (16.7%) at 8.30pm.
BBC Two's Mastermind and Gardeners' World notched up 2.19m (9.4%) and 1.82m (7.5%), after which A Life Without Work mustered 1.27m (5.4%) at 9pm, and The Stephen K Amos Show entertained 985k (4.8%) at 10pm. Channel 5's Law & Order: SVU attracted 1.2m (6.2%) at the same time.
Overall, BBC One controlled primetime with a share of 24.9% to ITV1's 20.1% (HD: 0.6%), Channel 4 was third with 7.2% (+1: 1.1%), BBC Two was fourth with 5.6%, and Channel 5 had 5.1%.
