Lucy-Jo Hudson has revealed that she burst into tears after landing a role in Wild At Heart.
The former Coronation Street actress, who played killer Katy Harris, was devastated to be leaving boyfriend Alan Halsall behind while filming on the other side of the world.
Hudson fell in love with Alan, better known as Tyrone Dobbs, before leaving Corrie last year.
"The first thing I did was burst into tears," Lucy-Jo told The People. "I wanted the part so much, but I didn't want to leave Alan, especially as we had just started dating. He was really chuffed for me and encouraging. He quickly arranged a big surprise farewell barbecue, but I couldn't stop crying.
"The second I touched down in South Africa, I rigged up a webcam so we could keep in touch every night. We went on it for an hour or two every night, which kept me going - I needed the comfort of seeing his face."
She added, "He's my soul mate and we are so in tune - I've never met anyone like him. I'm only 22, but I definitely think he's the one."
