Michael Barrymore has begun his television comeback – and producers foresee a return to hosting.
The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up appeared as a guest host on this week's episode of Channel 4’s Friday Night Project. The recording saw Barrymore return to London Studios, where he worked on past classics including Strike It Lucky.
Tim Hincks, of BB producer Endemol UK, thinks the star has to potential for a full TV comeback. “We’ve seen great names returning to screens like Bruce Forsyth and Noel Edmonds," he commented. "There’s no reason why Michael shouldn’t join them.”
Sky chief Dawn Airey agreed, saying: “He has not lost his ability to entertain and audiences still have a huge affection for him.”
