The first run of The Michael Ball Show aired earlier this year and ITV executives were said to be pleased with its success.
The Sun claims that the broadcaster has now asked Ball to produce another four weeks of the teatime programme.
The series is expected to become a permanent part of ITV's daytime lineup and will alternate with The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
"Michael was a gamble as he is fairly new to the chatshow thing," a source said. "But he's quite a down-to-earth guy and people like that."
The last series of The Michael Ball Show is thought to have averaged about 2m viewers.
