The BBC are planning a new veterinary drama to air on Sunday nights.
Producers are hoping that the new series, called The Chase, could be as successful as All Creatures Great and Small.
The show, written by Fat Friends creator Kay Mellor, will star Duty Free's Keith Barron, Gaynor Faye and former Holby City actress Nicola Stephenson.
"This is a classic Sunday night drama with gentle humour and lots of warmth," an insider told The Mirror. "The good thing about a show involving vets is that it taps into the British public's great love of animals."
