Britain's Fattest Man, about 49-year-old Paul Mason who at one stage weighed around 70 stone, averaged 2.63m (11.3%) for Channel 4 between 9.30pm and 10.30pm. A further 334k (2.2%) watched the programme on +1.
Earlier, Famous And Fearless continued on Channel 4 with 1.59m (6.4%) from 8pm and 171k (0.7%) on timeshift. Barbara Windsor: A Comedy Roast rounded out the evening with 980k (6.6%) from 10.30pm and 75k (0.9%) on +1.
On BBC One, Celebrity Mastermind pulled in 4.99m (21.4%) from 7pm, before Rip Off Britain returned with a healthy 5.55m (24.6%). A screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark entertained 4.62m (18.5%) between 8pm and 10pm. Later, a mid-week edition of Match of the Day grabbed 3.05m (24.1%) from 10.30pm.
Tonight: Snatched Kids - Too Much Too Young fetched 3.52m (15.7%) on ITV1 from 7.30pm, before The Unforgettable Bob Monkhouse brought in 2.84m (11.8%). Above Suspicion: Deadly Intent had 4.7m (18.4%) in the 9pm hour.
Over at BBC Two, coverage of the BDO World Darts Championship took 1.35m (5.9%) in the 7pm hour. Stargazing Live continued with 2.71m (11.2%) from 8pm and 182k (0.8%) on BBC HD. It was followed by The Bear Family And Me, which had 2.56m (10%) and 116k (0.5%) in HD. Never Mind The Buzzcocks entertained 1.48m (6.8%) from 10pm.
Channel 5's Highland Emergency grabbed 1.07m (4.8%) from 7.30pm, before There's A Rhino In My House! had 888k (3.7%). NCIS and Law & Order: Criminal Intent brought in respective audiences of 1.71m (6.7%) and 935k (4.6%) from 9pm.
Overall, BBC One won primetime with 20.5% against ITV1's 16.1%. BBC Two came in third with 8.4%, followed by Channel 4 with 7% (+1: 0.9%) and Channel 5 with 4.6%.
Elsewhere, the biggest multichannel audience of the night went to highlights of The Ashes, which pulled in 924k (4.7%) on ITV4 from 10pm.
