Finishing second in the 9pm hour, the programme added 588k (3%) on +1, knocking Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks down even further, nabbing just 2.51m (10.5%) for ITV1.
Meanwhile, Hustle scored a slot-winning 5.74m (23.9%), while documentary Can't Take It With You logged a modest 1.45m (6%) for BBC Two, and The Mentalist managed 1.15m (4.8%) for Channel 5.
From 10pm, a new series of The Million Pound Drop Live began with 2.29m (12.5%) on Channel 4, while BBC Two impressionist show Fast And Loose amused 1m (4.8%), and CSI delivered 1.08m (5.5%) to Channel 5.
During the 8pm hour, Mastermind and Life In A Cottage Garden had respective audiences of 2.48m (10.3%) and 1.72m (6.9%) for BBC Two. BBC One's QI interested 3.92m (15.8%), Children's Hospital grabbed 3.18m (13.1%) for ITV1, and 1.46m (6%) watched Relocation: Phil Down Under on Channel 4, with a further 244k (1%) on timeshift. Ice Road Truckers pulled in 1.29m (5.3%) for Channel 5.
Overall, BBC One beat ITV1 in primetime with 22.2% to 19.9%. Channel 4 claimed third place with 8.6% (+1: 1.3%), followed by BBC Two with 6.7%, and Channel 5 with 4.2%.
