'Fawlty Towers' stars to reunite for drama

Two of the stars of Fawlty Towers are reuniting to work on a new drama adaptation.

Andrew Sachs and Prunella Scales will work together on Mr Loveday's Little Outing by Evelyn Waugh. Sachs' character is put in a lunatic asylum, while Scales will play the wife of another inmate, Lord Moping.

"It is fantastic to be working with Prunella once again, and be part of such a great cast," Sachs said. "As a huge fan of Evelyn Waugh, it's a great thrill for me to be part of this project.

"The director has done such a wonderful job adapting the play, using only the words Evelyn Waugh wrote. We hope to honour Evelyn's memory, and I am sure, if he were around today, he would approve of the work we are doing."

The programme will go out in May as part of a 'Waugh season' on the BBC.
