NBC has given an early pickup to new thriller Kidnapped for the 2006-07 season.
In the drama, which has been greenlit for an initial run of thirteen episodes, Timothy Hutton (Kinsey) stars as a self-made millionaire whose quirky and innocent son is kidnapped on his way to school. The series focuses on the elaborate game between the kidnappers, the FBI and the family.
"This is one of those shows that sizzled from pitch to script to finished pilot," said Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment. "It will certainly be one of the most compelling new Fall series, so we wanted to express our confidence in it now and give the producers the extra lead time to develop the series."
