'Benidorm' still shining for ITV1

Benidorm triumphed again on Friday night, despite losing 700k on last week's premiere audience, according to the latest overnight data.

Derren Litten's award-winning sitcom averaged 6.64m (28.2%) at 9pm (+1: 290k), eclipsing the repeat of BBC One's New Tricks, which had 3.41m (14.7%).

Meanwhile, 2.62m (11.3%) watched Embarrassing Bodies on Channel 4 (+1: 583k), The Mentalist notched up 1.73m (7.4%) for Channel 5, and BBC Two's Hidden Treasures Of African Art was seen by 909k (3.9%).

Friday Night Dinner held a respectable 1.47m (7.4%) for Channel 4 at 10pm (+1: 231k), ahead of Fast And Loose's 787k (4%) for BBC Two, and Law & Order's 1.13m (6.2%) for Channel 5.

Earlier in the 8pm hour, Children's Hospital mustered 3.04m (13%) for ITV1 up against EastEnders, while QI picked up 3.46m (14.6%) for BBC One opposite Corrie.

Mastermind and Britain From Above took 2.42m (10.4%) and 1.16m (4.9%) for BBC Two, while 1.36m (5.8%) tuned in for Channel 4's Relocation: Phil Down Under (+1: 153k), and Ice Road Truckers logged 1.43m (6%).

Overall, ITV1 beat BBC One in primetime with 26% (+1: 0.6%) to 19.3%. Channel 4 claimed third place with 6.6% (+1: 1.2%), followed by BBC Two with 5.5%, and Channel 5 with 5.3%.
