Antony Worrall Thompson is leaving the BBC's Saturday Kitchen for ITV.
The corporation says it will continue the show with new stars, prompting a TV-chef ratings battle. A spokesman commented: "We will use new talent and the show will continue."
ITV say Thompson, 54, will present shows at the weekend and on weekdays, while the BBC may also repeat his programmes.
Worrall Thompson – who leaves the show after four years – said he is looking forward to reuniting with a former colleague. He explained: "I just look forward to working again with my ex-BBC Daytime boss Alison Sharman, who is now at ITV."
