FX UK picks up 'NCIS' season four
FX UK has acquired the rights to air the upcoming fourth season of navy drama NCIS.

The show, which regularly pulls in 17 million viewers in the US, was one of fourteen series given an early renewal for the 2006-07 season by CBS earlier this month.

The news of the acquisition comes after speculation that Five, who has recently sublicenced the early seasons from FX, was preparing a bid for the first-run rights.

"NCIS has been long regarded a sleeper hit in the states and we've been building a loyal audience with it on FX," said Jason Thorp, svp of Fox International Channels UK. "Five's decision to license proves our confidence in the show was justified. Our commitment to NCIS is but a part of a huge line up of quality first run drama we now have on our books. FX is not here just to make up the numbers."
