'E-Ring' finally finds UK home
FX has picked up the UK rights to terrorist drama E-Ring, almost a year after the series first came up for grabs at the LA screenings.

The male-skewed station plans to air the first season of the NBC show, which stars Dennis Hopper (Speed) and is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, from September.

FX has also acquired Showtime's upcoming serial killer drama Dexter for broadcast early in 2007 and ABC's new crime series The Evidence for broadcast in July.

"We're getting more and more bullish in our acquisitions strategy to make FX a must-have channel," FX's vp of broadcast Jason Thorpe told C21. "The gloves are off."

The news comes just days after the broadcaster kept hold of the rights to navy drama NCIS against a challenge from Five.
