The single JLS star told the Daily Star that he would have "nothing to lose" by appearing on the ITV1 dating show hosted by Paddy McGuinness.
"I suppose I'm going to have to go on Take Me Out to find someone," he quipped. "I think I'd be a bit self-conscious going on the show, but I'd definitely try it. I've got nothing to lose."
However, Merrygold admitted that his mother is worried about the 30 girls all turning their lights off on him.
"I was talking about it the other day with my mum," he said. "She said she wouldn't want me on the show as she's scared I'd get all my lights turned off. It would be embarrassing."
Last month, it was revealed that Kerry Katona is dating property developer Dan Foden who recently appeared on the hit series.
McGuinness previously told Digital Spy that he would like to do a one-off celebrity special and said that he would like to get Peter Andre and Keith Lemon onto the programme.
