'The Reckoning' sheds more than 2m

The concluding part of new ITV1 drama The Reckoning lost more than 2 million viewers on Tuesday evening, the latest audience data has revealed.

The Reckoning, starring Ashley Jenson and Max Beesley, averaged 3.43m (14.6%) for ITV1 in the 9pm hour, down 2.12m on the previous night's opening episode. A further 254k (1.5%) watched the show on +1.

The drama was also just outperformed by comedy Candy Cabs, which drove away with 3.62m (15.6%) on BBC One in the 9pm hour.

Earlier, Military Driving School educated 2.44m (12%) on ITV1 from 7.30pm. BBC One's Holby City fetched 5.46m (24.9%) in the 8pm hour, beating Countrywise's 2.78m (12.8%) on ITV1.

Over at BBC Two, Live Snooker - The World Championship mustered 860k (4.5%) in the 7pm hour. Britain's Next Big Thing continued with 1.23m (5.6%) from 8pm. Filthy Cities sniffed out 1.87m (8.1%) in the 9pm hour and 148k (0.6%) on BBC HD, before Later Live With Jools Holland appealed to 1.01m (5.3%) from 10pm.

Channel 4's Supersize Vs Superskinny gobbled up 1.74m (8%) in the 8pm hour and 203k (0.9%) on +1. The Sex Education Show returned with 1.5m (6.5%) from 9pm and 375k (2.2%) on timeshift. Campus slumped to 380k (2.3%) from 10pm.

Extraordinary Dogs entertained 562k (2.8%) on Channel 5 from 7.30pm, before documentary Tutankhamun: The Mystery Revealed captivated 840k (3.9%). CSI and CSI: Miami brought in 1.83m (7.9%) and 1.26m (7.9%) respectively from 9pm.

Overall, BBC One owned primetime with 23.5% against ITV1's 14.5% (+1: 0.6%). BBC Two came third with 6%, followed by Channel 4 and Channel 5 jointly with 5.2% (C4+1: 1%).

Elsewhere, documentary So What If My Baby Is Born Like Me? pulled in 966k (4.2%) on BBC Three in the 9pm hour. White Van Man amused 757k (4.9%) on the channel from 10.30pm.

Katie entertained 257k (1.1%) on Sky Living in the 9pm hour. It was followed by new reality series The Hunks, which attracted a modest 158k (0.9%) from 10pm.

The biggest multichannel audience of the night went to coverage of Manchester United's goalless draw with Newcastle, which grabbed 1.76m (8%) on Sky Sports 1 from 7.30pm.
