BBC Three has greenlit production of a new drama series centring around the "sexual misadventures of a group of 20-somethings".

Called Sinchronicity, the show reads as an adult version of E4's cult teen drama series As If and boasts that show's writer, Julian Jones, as well as two of its stars, Paul Chequer and Jemima Rooper, as the characters of Nathan and Fi.

Also on the cast are Camille Coduri (Doctor Who) as Peggy, Daniel Percival (Dirty War) as Jase, Navin Chowdhry (Teachers) as Mac, John Sheahan (Bleak House) as Fabien and Danielle Urbas as Rosa.

"Sinchronicity is a smart, modern drama with an inventive narrative device at its heart," said Julian Bellamy, BBC Three's new controller. "It chimes perfectly with the core values of the channel - young, contemporary and entertaining."

Filming on the 6x30' series begins in Manchester next month for transmission at the end of the year.
