BBC announces local elections coverage

The BBC has announced plans to cover local elections results in a night-long simulcast on BBC One and BBC News 24.
David Dimbleby will lead the coverage beginning at 11:30pm on Thursday, May 4. A complete picture from around the country is expected to emerge after midnight. Emily Maitlis will report from London while Jeremy Vine makes his swingometer debut.
The coverage will air through the night until 6am on Friday.
