The Comedy Genius of John Sullivan, featuring contributions from Only Fools and Horses stars David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, logged 3.45m (15.1%) at 8.30pm.
At 9pm, Have I Got News For You climbed to 5.17m (22.3%), then a repeat of Outnumbered took 4.05m (17.7%) at 9.30pm.
Once again, the comedy duo got the better of ITV1's Paul O'Grady Live, which grabbed 3.15m (13.7%) and 140k on +1.
Meanwhile, The Million Pound Drop Live on Channel 4 entertained 1.95m (8.7%) until 10.30pm, along with a further 156k on timeshift, and The Mentalist averaged 1.76m (7.6%) for Channel 5.
Over on BBC Two, Gardeners' World interested 2.12m (9.5%) at 8pm, then An Education was seen by 1.45m (6.3%) between 8.30pm and 10pm.
At 8pm, Baboons with Bill Bailey fetched 2.74m (12.4%) for ITV1, 1.18m (5.2%) watched A Place In The Sun: Home or Away on Channel 4, and Ice Road Truckers notched up 1.09m (4.9%).
Overall, BBC One led primetime with 21.6% to ITV1's 20.2% (+1: 0.5%). BBC Two finished third with 6.2%, followed by Channel 4 with 6% (+1: 0.5%), and Channel 5 with 4.8%.
