'Paul O'Grady Live' climbs to 3.8m

Paul O'Grady Live helped ITV regain its lead over BBC One on Friday night, early viewing figures indicate.

With Matt Lucas, Katherine Kelly and Westlife, the chatshow grabbed 3.63m (16.5%) in the 9pm hour, adding 128k on ITV1 +1 - an overall rise of approximately 500k week-on-week.

Meanwhile, Have I Got News For You slipped to 4.41m (20%) at 9pm, down 760k on last week's outing, then another Outnumbered repeat amused 3.39m (15.5%).

The Million Pound Drop Live pulled in 2.17m (10.1%) for Channel 4, quite a way ahead of The Mentalist which took 1.64m (7.5%) for Channel 5. The Davina McCall gameshow had an extra 186k on Channel 4 +1.

Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers made a triumphant return to Channel 5 with 1.4m (6.5%) at 8pm, placing the documentary series ahead of A Place In The Sun: Home or Away which mustered 1.17m (5.5%) and 200k on timeshift.

Trucks and Trailers also dented the two main broadcasters, with A Question of Sport scoring 2.56m (11.6%) for BBC One at 8.30pm and 9pm, and ITV1's Baboons with Bill Bailey interesting 2.55m (12.3%) between 8pm and 8.30pm (+1: 127k).

Over on BBC Two, Petworth House: The Big Spring Clean (8pm), Gardeners' World (8.30pm) and Dirk Gently (9pm) logged respective audiences of 1.15m (5.5%), 1.86m (8.4%) and 1.12m (5.1%).

Overall, ITV1 took primetime with 22.2% (+1: 0.5%), ahead of BBC One's 20.7%, and Channel 4's 6.5% (+1: 0.7%). BBC Two and Channel 5 tied in last place with 5.3% each.
