A new episode of Ideal, titled 'The Police' and featuring a guest appearance from music legend Paul Weller, averaged 628k (4%) for BBC Three from 10.30pm.
Comedy panel show Celebrity Juice amused 1.49m (8%) on ITV2 from 10pm, but it was down on last week's all-time high of 1.74m. The show had a further 240k (2.3%) on ITV2+1.
The Shadow Line, Hugo Blick's Noir thriller, continued with 1.69m (7.4%) on BBC Two in the 10pm hour and 146k (0.6%) on the BBC HD channel. It was followed by spooky comedy Psychoville, which slumped to 660k (3.4%) from 10pm.
Earlier, Tonight: Too Old To Be A Mum? fetched 3m (14.4%) on ITV1 from 7.30pm, while Watchdog had 3.97 (17.4%) on BBC One in the 8pm hour, down 520k week-on-week.
Inside The Human Body educated 3.77m (16.6%) on BBC One in the 9pm hour, but lost out to Long Lost Family's 4.68m (20.5%) on ITV1 and 180k (1%) on +1. Later, Piers Morgan's Life Stories grabbed 1.03m (8.1%) on ITV1 from 10.30pm and Question Time quizzed 2.58m (20.7%) on BBC One from 10.45pm.
B&B reality series Three in a Bed booked in 1.08m (4.7%) on Channel 4 in the 8pm hour and 350k (1.5%) on +1. Documentary Breaking a Female Paedophile Ring had 1.66m (7.3%) in the 9pm hour and 371k (2.1%) on timeshift. World's Tallest Man: Looking for Love enchanted 1.25m (7.1%) from 10pm and 172k (1.8%) an hour later.
Over at BBC Two, The Culture Show appealed to 790k (3.9%) in the 7pm hour, before RHS Chelsea Flower Show fetched 2.17m (9.5%) from 8pm and 117k (0.5%) on BBC HD.
Highlights of England's Test Series against Sri Lanka captivated 641k (3.2%) on Channel 5 in the 7pm hour, before Emergency Bikers pulled in 825k (3.6%) in the 8pm hour. Extreme Fishing with Robson Green caught 1.21m (5.3%) from 9pm, before a screening of Art of War II: Betrayal had 498k (3.8%) from 10pm.
Overall, ITV1 just edged primetime with 22.9% (+1: 0.5%) against BBC One's 21.1%. BBC Two ranked in third with 6.2%, ahead of Channel 4's 5.6% (+1: 1.1%) and Channel 5's 3.8%.
Elsewhere, Peter Andre: The Next Chapter entertained 793k (3.5%) on ITV2 in the 9pm hour and 135k (0.8%) on timeshift.
