Capping a bumper night for ITV, Britain's Got Talent's last auditions show logged 9.86m (40.4%) between 7.30pm and 9pm, peaking with 10.78m (42%) in the final 15 minutes, and adding 427k on timeshift.
Decent numbers for Coronation Street lifted the channel to an overall primetime share of 31.5% (+1: 1.2%).
Over on BBC One, Countryfile (7pm) and Antiques Roadshow (8pm) interested 5.08m (22.6%) and 5.16m (20.7%), then 4.57m (20.9%) chose Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest from 9pm.
Louis Theroux (9pm) and Queen: Days of Our Lives (10pm) mustered 2.15m (8.6%) and 2.19m (10.6%) for BBC Two.
Channel 4's The Hotel pipped Britain's Secret Seas on BBC Two in the 8pm hour, with 1.04m (4.2%) and 190k on +1 to 1.03m (4.2%).
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button then premiered to 1.73m (8.9%) between 9pm and 12.15am, adding a further 271k on Channel 4 +1, while Channel 5's Most Shocking Talent Show Moments entertained 1.17m (5.8%).
However, poor figures for The True Story - 697k (2.8%) at 8pm - ensured Channel 5's fate at the bottom of the primetime share index with 3.7%.
Channel 4 averaged 6.5% (+1: 1%), BBC Two was better with 6.8%, and BBC One had a respectable 20.9%.
