The singer is said to be in talks with MTV about plans for a show that will see her tutor a group of ambitious dancers. Lopez herself worked as a dancer before finding fame.
A source said: "It is very early in the development of the show and anything could happen at this point."
It has recently been rumoured that Lopez will play Sue Ellen Ewing in the upcoming movie version of Dallas.
