French 'Pop Idol' host dropped midseason

The host of the French version of Pop Idol has been dropped from the show midseason after he defected to a rival network.
Benjamin Castaldi, who has hosted Nouvelle Star and the reality hit Loft Story, announced that he would be leaving M6 for the rival TF1 later this year.
M6 pulled Castaldi immediately upon receiving his notice and has replaced him with Virginie Efira, a well-known face from RTL and Canal+.
