The BBC has greenlit five new comedy drama pilots for transmission this autumn on BBC One.
The shows include one written by Phoenix Nights star Dave Spikey and one starring comedian Lenny Henry.
BBC One controller Peter Fincham said the pieces would provide the channel with a "unique opportunity to bring some of the best talent in the business together for the enjoyment of our audience".
The five shows are:
Magnolia: "A warm and slightly eccentric comedy about a group of painters and decorators trying to make a living for some very odd clients." Written by Dave Spikey (co-writer and co-star of Phoenix Nights).
Aftersun:: "Tells the story of two couples who meet on holiday – young lovers engaged after 72 hours and parents who are left alone for the first time in 20 years after their kids have flown the coop; will both couples survive the holiday?"
Angel Cake: "A gifted cake-maker, living on a grimy estate, bakes a batch of buns which mould themselves into the image of the Virgin Mary whilst baking. Miracles happen - or do they? One thing's for sure, Elaine's life will never be the same again."
Slings & Arrows: "An intellectually frustrated dry cleaner, played by Lenny Henry, finds life and love at an OU English Literature course."
Housekeeping: "A darkly comic study of suburban family life told through the eyes of Raymond, a househusband going through divorce and forced to turn his house into a brothel in order to keep hold of the property."
